Guatemala is the ancestral home of the Mayan Empire. Declaring its independence first from the Spanish Empire, then from the Mexican empire and finally the Federal Republic of Central America, Guatemala gained its true independence on April 17, 1839.

HOPE exists to “provide security to the new generations by breaking the cycle of poverty through spiritual, educational and physical work.” They do this by providing children nutrition through their weekly feeding program, education through tutoring and extra curricular activities and spiritually through their daily discipleship program. By helping children grow in these ways, HOPE is equipping children to break the cycle of poverty, love the Lord, and become game-changing leaders in Guatemala.
